Jacob Toftgaard Rasmussen is the Program Director and Instructor on the Programming fundamentals course at Nordic Online Academy.
Originally from Denmark, Jacob has also lived in both Germany and China. His programming journey began at a young age when he started developing his own computer games. This early passion led him to pursue a BSc in Software Engineering from Aalborg University, and today he works as a Software Engineer at Trifork.
As a professional Full-Stack Developer, Jacob has hands-on experience in both backend development (servers, APIs, and databases) and frontend development (websites and mobile apps). His professional work includes building software solutions for industries such as construction and fintech.
Beyond his strong academic and professional background in software development, Jacob has a deep passion for teaching. His interest in education began during high school, when he started tutoring, and since then he has gained extensive experience teaching programming to audiences ranging from primary school pupils to university students.
Jacob’s teaching philosophy focuses on making complex concepts clear, relatable, and practical. His goal is to ensure that students can immediately apply their new knowledge during and after completing the Introductory Programming and Advanced Programming courses at Nordic Online Academy.
